How does one disable these 'persistent connections' as it has corrupted our forum AGAIN?

You can try editing 'Setting.php' in the root of your forum - look for this section:

########## Database Info ##########
$db_type 'mysql';
$db_server 'localhost';
$db_name 'name_of_db';
$db_user 'db_user';
$db_passwd 'db_password';
$ssi_db_user '';
$ssi_db_passwd '';
$db_prefix 'smf_';
$db_persist 1;
$db_error_send 0;

Change

$db_persist 1;

to:

$db_persist 0;

Thank you.

I'll pass that along to Zorgon at Pegasus Research Consortium.

What really sucks is that the black skin we have been using is evidently 'unavailable' now.

The original owners of Globat did a lot of the PHP stuff and we are completely out of our league..

I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for a bit of help over there TODAY…

thelivingmoon.com
is the main site…

but it is the forum that went south…BTW, we really like your software and want to stay with you.
